KC Corporate Esports Cup FAQ

What is the Overall Schedule?

May 6th

Registration Ends

Starting in Feb of 2025 - we will start signing up teams to get the league underway but be sure to get in before the end registration date!

If you are new to KCCEC - fill out this form and we will get back to you with next steps and will answer any questions you may have.

Captains will create teams through the 'team registration' button.

May 6th/7th/8th

Orientation and Pre-season Play

This is where we walk through any player questions and talk about rules, scheduling and posting results for each game. When completed, we open up friendly play to all so that players are familiar with connecting to a league game.

May 13th/14th/15th

Weekly League Play starts

Schedules and matchups will be announced each week via email and accessible through our tournament game page. Each game has it's own start time so that some of the same players can play in different game titles.

July 1st

Playoffs Begin

We take the weekly league results and seed each game into an 8 team, double elimination tournament bracket. Games will then be completed by round for three weeks leading up to the Loser Finals and Grand Finals that will be played LIVE at Park University on July 29.

What are the games being played in 2025 league?

Valorant is a competitive, team-based tactical shooter by Riot Games where players select unique agents with specialized abilities.

Teams compete in objective-driven 5v5 matches that emphasize strategy, precision, and teamwork.

Valorant Ruleset

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a racing game for the Nintendo Switch, and the first Mario game overall for the console.

Play as a 6-person team head to head in a 12 player race against another company, in a best of three set. The company with the highest player accumulated points wins the day!

MarioKart 8 Deluxe Ruleset

Soccer meets driving in this free to play, multiplayer-focused physics-based arena inside rocket powered battle-cars.

Be part of a 3-person Rocket League squad with booster-rigged vehicles that can be crashed into balls for incredible goals or epic saves across multiple, highly detailed arenas.

Rocket League Ruleset

Smash Ultimate crew battles are team-based competitions where each crew (team) selects a set number of players, each with a limited stock of lives.

Players face off one at a time, and when a player is eliminated, the next teammate takes their place, continuing the battle with their remaining stocks until one crew is completely defeated.

Smash Bros. Ultimate Ruleset

PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) is a battle royale game where up to 100 players parachute onto an island, scavenge for weapons and gear, and fight to be the last one standing.

The game features intense, tactical combat with shrinking play zones that force encounters, requiring strategy, survival skills, and quick reflexes.

PUBG Ruleset

League of Legends is a fast-paced, team-based strategy game where two teams of five champions battle to destroy the enemy Nexus.

Players choose from a diverse roster of champions, each with unique abilities, and work together using tactics, teamwork, and skill to control objectives and outplay their opponents.

Many of your employees already play games 3-5 times a week and have no idea that the employees around them are playing the same game. This league will allow for your employees to find common ground, in gaming, to build and sustain new relationships that will help with collaboration inside the company and open the door for further development

All members of the team will need to work for the company you represent and live within the KC Metropolitan Area. A valid email for the company for each player is required. The exception is smaller companies with 250 local employees or less - we want you to be able to compete by combining with another company of less than 250 local employees. and opportunities for your employees as well.

The Kansas City Metropolitan Area is defined as:
Missouri - Buchanan, Cass, Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Platte, Ray
Kansas - Atchison, Douglas, Franklin, Jefferson, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami, Shawnee, Wyandotte

Player Eligibility Requirements

Work with the admins and the other teams captain to reschedule the match as soon as you know of any scheduling issue. If you need to change the date within 24 hours of the match, your team will forfeit that weeks game. {We recommend your teams have the maximum amount of subs possible per game to minimize scheduling issues.}

We hope to fill a minimum of 8 teams per game. Depending on interest level, we may limit each game to 8 teams to fill an 7 week league...if we can fill 16 teams, we will do that - it is going to be determined based on the amount of interest we see in the coming weeks.
